42. After all, it's the answer to the ultimate question, isn't it.

Seriously, how the heck are we supposed to answer your question? You haven't told us the tire size, plus you are making us look up the wheel width and offset for an Evo 8.

the offset of the evo rim is 38mm, the width is 8 inches, the stock tires for those rims are 235/45/17r's, I too am interested in this information, except I have a 1g, I want to fit some 245/40/17r's, with (right now) no drop, but Im guessing I could get away with a 1.5" drop as well. I was thinking that the 5mm spacers would be perfect, creating an effective 33mm spacing for the 245/40's under the stock shocks, but I recently realized with how much I am hitting the bump stops (or the tires to the perch, I'm not sure, maybe its both), I need something that eliminate the upper limit I have reached. I was thinking some gc's would do the job, but would rather save my money for something more effective.

would the 5mm's make the 245's fit for my current set up? I recently got a nail in one my tires, and am considering new tires since we couldn't use a normal patch, and had to use an old fashion patch to cover the leak. They are speed rated to 100, and that will do no good, as I've trapped higher than that in the quarter....

edit: right now the fenders are no problem whatsoever, and the 235's already stick out a little in the front. I don't need to roll them since I'm riding at the stock height.

Please - I beg you - stop mixing 1Gs and 2Gs in the same thread. The Great Unwashed find this very confusing. It's one of the things that makes people ask old, repeat questions, such as "can I put Evo wheels on my DSM?"

sorry, I just figured while we were on the topic, yah know....

so basically his question should be, do I need to have the wheels completely under the fenders so they don't scrape with the drop I have, and how far out is that.

not knowing his tire choice or the fender size of the 2g, I'll leave that to you guys, but the rims he is talking about are 8 inches wide with a 38mm offset.
