I cant afford to replace my curbed rims right now, since according to a "mechanic" they are unsafe to drive on. Which his opinion has wieghed on my parents decision to not let me drive great distances until the rims are replaced. :notgood: I found a set of OEM GST rims for a good price, and was just curious if they would clear my brakes/fit my 99 GSX. I was talking to a friend about getting them and he said they wouldn't clear the calipers on my car:confused: thanks for the help in advance!

The table says that 16x6 are used as the stock FWD wheels, and stock AWD wheels in the 95-96 years. I don't believe there were any changes to the brakes between 95/96 and the 97-99 models so the answer should be yes, they will fit.

Keep in mind that you will be changing tire and wheel sizes so the speedo won't be accurate.

They will fit nearly exactly the same. The speedo will only be off by approx 1-2 mph, which makes nearly no difference. Make sure you have the same tires and wheel sizes on the front and back or you are going to ruin that gsx.

I agree. Though it's not the exact same scenario, I went from OEM 16x6, to 17x8. No issues.

To be 100% clear: it is known that 16" wheels clear 2G AWD "big" (2-piston) brakes.

We're done.
