I noticed a recall post on the other forumn "dsmtalk" for the ball joints on dsm cars.. I need the help of those who do not make it to the other forumn... here is my story...Yesterday i hit a curb pulling out of my neighborhood, I was going under 10 MPH as I had to come to a complete stop before pulling out. As i pulled out I hit the curb on accident and as a result the entire passanger side front wheel was extremely cranked over and almosed pinned inside the wheel well. I had the car towed as it would not drive and the mechanic told me it appeared that it was only the ball joint that gave out and that this should not have resulted from hitting a curb at low speed. At this point i was not worried as a new ball joint would be very cheap. Turns out from a second look the axle had been pulled out of the tranny when I made the turn!!!!
!! why did this happen!!!!! I just bought the car used as is a week ago!!!!!! and now i am looking at a 600 dollar repair bill!!!!!
I AM SO PISSED!!!!! now from looking at this thread there seems to be a recall on this part which makes me feel better. Does anyone know if there is a # I can call and explain my story to? will Chysler reimburse me for this???? someone please help me I just spent all my money on a car and I dont have enough to fix it!! as I said I bought the car used as-is from a used car dealership. It is a 96 Eagle Talon and it was a original owner. She actually turned the car into the Chystler dealer she got it from so they should have checked this before they handed it to a used car dealer right!!!!! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
