Alright so I have done quite the searching and I am pretty sure I have figured out the correct answer but I would just like to get a double check by you suspension gurus so I don't end up spending money on somethat that won't work. Alright during my search it seemed that if you ran a 17x8 with a +35 offset on a 2g with a tire at 225 or wider you would have to roll the fender flange as wret liked to call it. This is all clear to me and i have no problem doing this to my car. However, I am looking at rims currently that are 17x7.5 with a +35 offset and I plan on running some 225/45/17 tires front and back. I would run wider but these are just my street wheels and 225 is the widest drag radial they make that would even possibly fit under out fenders(next size up is 275 then 315).

So my question is if I ran 225/45/17 tires on a 17x7.5 wheel with a +35 offset would they clear the fender if I roled the fender flange? and would they sit flush with the fender or stick out past them? These are going to be strictly used for the street as I have a set of slicks for the track and I plan on putting race tires on my stock rims for any autox days I attend. I want to make sure the rims I have picked out won't rub horribly even after rolling the fenders and also won't stick out past the fenders when the car is brought back down off the jackstands. The car is currently lowered about 1.5" at most and I don't plan on going anylower. thanks in advance.

The wheel/tire/lowering combo you describe would be close to flush with the outside of the fenders, and tuck easily with rolled fender flanges.

My only question is why so low an offset? With 225 width tires you could go as high as +45mm with less wory about rubbing the fenders. +40mm would be better if you ever consider a 235 width tire.

well the wheels I really really really want that I can afford at least, come in either a +35, +45 or +48. I figure both the +35 and +45 are going to be on the extremes of what can fit under the fender. If a +45 will fit better with out as much fender rolling I will just do that. I can possibly see myself running a 235 tire but like I said these will be primarily for the street with some minimal spirited driving. I have huge slicks for the track(24.5x10.5x13) and I was thinknig of throwing on some advan a032rs on the stock gst rims for autox days.

So both the +45 and +35 will fit but you recomend the +45 over the +35.

I run 17/7.5 with 35mm and 225/45 tire and the rear was rubbing a little(lip) when I used 2washers to correct allignment. I now am running 18/8 with 41mm and 235/40 and the back is OK even with the allignment corrected. You still will have to roll the rear lip so go a head and get 35mm with 225/45..My friend is running 17/8 with 225/45 and 40mm and the back does not rub with eibach prokit.

+45 for 255's and no fender clearance concerns
+35 for anything wider

You decide.

im currently using a 18x8.5 with a +43mm offset, 225-40s, and i have never had any issues with it rubbing. I just went to a 235-40 and have rubbing issues now. im going to have to roll my finders, but im finding this easier said then done.
Hope i can get it figured out before i cut something...

I assume the above is a typo. +45 for 225s.

To which I will add: +40 for 235s and 245s. There's little reason to get +35s for street tires.
