2g AWD wheel gap measurement?

Once again I'm an idiot.

I just put new suspension on my car and forgot to measure the wheel gap before I started.
It's all done but looks a little lower than I thought it would be.

Does anyone know the the stock wheel gap is on a 2g GSX?

By the way I put on Tokico Illumina shocks and Tanabe GF-210 springs ( advertised drop of 1.2" ).

The rear wheel gap is now 1 1/2"
The front right is 1 1/4"
The front left is a little less than 1"

Any reason the front right is lower? Is it because it settled more with me being in the car?
 
The way that you are asking the question depends on the size of the tire. What you really want is the distance from the center of the wheel to the lip, which is 15.5" front and rear.

Anything I should check for?

The first time around I actually had the rear spring on the front left side. I switched it out to the correct spring but it still sits more than a 1/4" lower.

It's typical for the left to be slightly lower than the right side (front). It's in VFAQs somewhere why that happens.


Also, the reason why you want to measure ride height from the hub center to the fender as opposed to the ground is because your ride height can change based on the profile of your tires. The hub center is constant to the car and doesn't change, so it makes a good reference point.
 
Lots of 2Gs sit lower in the left front than right front. And it is not just a question of weight, since my car now has equal weights side-to-side in the front and rear, and still sits crooked on the stock suspension. The best I can offer is that, deep down, the Mitsu dudes really want to get into NASCAR and couldn't help but dial in a little cross-jacking.

That your car is crooked in the front and not in the rear merely suggests to me that you have a sunroof. If you search around, you will find many complaints from people who race 2Gs as to their awful torsional stiffness. These ain't rally cars by any stretch of the imagination.

As far as the left side leaning more than the right, I guess it's just more noticeable since the car has been lowered.

So I measured from the center of the wheel to the fender. It came out 13.5"

So according to your stock 15.5", it dropped 2". It was only suppose to be 1.2" and 2" is more than I wanted.

I guess I'll have to call the shop I bought them from and see what they say about it.
