Pressing out ball joint

Ok have the clip off and a ball joint press. Ball joint won't budge. Just want to make sure, you press the ball joint OUT fro top to bottom, correct? In other words, press from the top.

I beat mine out with a hammer. Top to bottom. Came out rather easily

I had to press mine out, through the bottom, and it came out "easily." Give it hell, man. It'll come out.

Dono about 1g but I think its basicly the same as the 2g's. I beat mine out with a 3lb drilling hammer using my table vice as a support. It was alot easier to replace then I expected after all the crap it took me to get the bushings out.

Just beat it out, thats what they taught me at school.

Here's your options:

A) Beat it out with a hammer and a socket that slips over the ball joint

B) Use the ball joint press. Put the control arm in a strong vice and use an impact wrench (((like you use for your wheels)))

It takes an impact wrench to get the dang things out. Trust me....I've done it 4 times to my car in the past 6 months.
