Picked up some zenki forged alluminum lug nuts today
When I took one out I couldn't believe it was a lug nut, felt no heavier than a paint ball.
So I pulled out the scale and weighed 5 stock lug nuts vs 5 of the zenki lugs
Stockers were shy of 12 Oz's and the zenki's were just under 3. 36 Oz's or 3 lbs of total weight savings. I paid 60 for 20 lugs and a chuck, not a bad package. Makes up for my heavy tyres.

Ah ok. These 17mm nuts that Kosei gave me with the rims suck to get off as a normal deepwell 17mm socket rubs on the rim and scraches it.
Oh no I dont use impacts on lugnuts, I have a 2 foot 1/2" breaker bar that I keep in the car along with the 17mm socket.

Um. Nope. The lugs are at a radius of a little over 2". The tires are about a foot from the center. So the weight of the tires is about 36 times as important.
What are these lugs rated, anyway?

I don't like those because they are not open face.
I run Kyokyugen 7 sided lugnuts. Weight is similar to your "forged" lugs.

I use McGuard splinedrive lugs, they're very lightweight and they are durable. The finish on them also lasts if you want black, or a color other then chrome or metal plating. I had some black zenkis, the finish wore off of them after a few rainstorms, so maybe you'll have better luck with them, look cool though for sure. just my .02.
