I have a 2G AWD that I'm prepping for some drivers schools and some time trial events. Currently, I have Tokico Illuminas and think they work well..., but want to replace the springs with coilovers as we all know they are the best thing for the types of events I mentioned, although some may feel otherwise and that is cool. Anyway, I want to have to most adjustablity with the coilover setup and not go broke doing it. Had I known I would have gotten the Konis, but the Tokicos were for a very reasonable price.

What are your thoughts on the Skunk2's? I know they use the Eibach springs, but how do you like them? I you have tehm at all. If you have a spring setup like the Pro-Kits let me know too...

I have had Skunks on my car for about a month now and they are fine. I don't have any complaints. The ride is pretty stiff but the car is lowered like 3 inches and I don't really have anything to compare it with since I never had any other suspension.

I have my Tokico's set at 2 all the way around because when I had them at 4 front and 5 back I was bouncing all over the place...then again PA roads suck. I haven't really played with the set up anymore plus I think the front collar may be on upside down. I was talking to Larryd and he said he did that and thought mine might be also.

It they are not on upside down the front and rear height adjustment is different because the front is as low as it can go while the back has about an inch more it could be lowered.

The only other thing I can think of is that sometimes if I am entering a drive way or going over a big dip the spring will make a noise as though they moved on the collar. This is only when I go over a dip or enter a driveway at a diagonal direction.

Overall I'd say they are good enough.....the handling difference was amazing after they were installed. No more body roll.:D

Yup same thing for me too. I regret putting them, on the stock struts though, cuz it makes them even more uncomfortable to ride on, but I am saving now for my Koni's so hopefully they should get better. Overall though I have to say they don't ride bad. Just make sure if you do decide to get them and are installing them, to put the longer spring in the front and the smaller in the back. I know this confuses some people since the instructions that they give you aren't the greatest. I made the mistake myself of putting them on backwards and had to redo the whole thing. Oh well I guess that is the price you pay for not reading the instructions the first time.

Thanks guys! That makes the choice easier...woulda hate to have to redo the entire suspension just to put Koni and Ground Controls on. Although, if the Skunks and GC's both use the same spring what would be the difference. Granted neither of these setups are as good as the JIC or B&G setups, but they do cost half as much, so I suppose you get what you pay for.

Thanks again guys! I'll take pics and let you know how I make out!

I would think that many springs regardless of the manufacturer would being to settle/sag a little. However if they really sagged badly I'm sure Eibach would be getting phone calls quickly to rectify springs that are sagging early.

When I say sag I mean by like more than .125..You know something truly visible to the eye.

I wasn't talking about Eibach, I was talking about Skunk's coilovers!!!! :p

As was I because Skunk uses the Eibach spring as the spring of choice in their kit.

That is unless you were talking about another part sagging within the kit.
