Ok, a buddy of mine sold me a front set of the Baer 13" brakes. Now they were for a 2g, and i own a 1g. I called RRE about this before hand, and they said the only thing that is different between 1g awd/ 2g awd is the caliper and how its a banjo style on the 2g's. So i ordered their SS lines with the front banjo fitting. Now i was having a slight problem with the rotor comming very very close to the lower control arm were the ball joint is. Does anyone know if this is going to be a problem? any help would be great.

I had the same problem (my 4 pistons kit came from a 2G), we used a hammer to clear some space, it was not enough, so we put a 2mm spacer before the disk, and it's fine.

ok i put some washers behind the rotor and that helped pull the rotor away from the control arm. Now i had to put washers/spacers between the caliper, and the caliper mounting bracket cause if it didnt, the rotor was binding or rubbing against the caliper. Is this what i was suposed to do? thats guys, ur help so far is extrememly helpful.

Exactly,

You will have to use shims or "washers" to push the rotor out a little bit.
Just use a little fennese.

thanks

yeah, but if i push out the rotor a little, i would have to shim the caliper a little too. Well anyways, i shimmed the rotor, and put washers between the caliper and the adapter bracket and it seems to be ALOT better.

While it's not mine, I'd discourage you from running 'washers' under the hat as a spacer. Get a real spacer made up! I have some that may or may not help, you'll have to get the washers mic'd so I know how thick it needs to be.

Reasons? Washers vary in thickness. Washers will put a stress riser under the hat and may lead to cracks. Torque of the wheel will all be relative to this very small area- the surface of five washers. Stud length may also be in question. All very bad things...

Figure how thick it needs to be and get a spacer. Then do the same on the caliper shims- hardened washers that are the same thickness at least. They have to move in pairs so the rotor does not rub on the caliper cage.

Do it right before you damage something.
