Calgary,
Just installed coilovers on my 1g dsm.

I put them all to the same setting, all the way to the bottom, so the back is good, nice and low, almost tuck, front.. raised?? I had lowering springs in there before, but after i put these coilovers in it actually raised the front of the car

Front and back springs are correct. i followed the vfaq for the instructions, they arnt the ground control ones, but they are a cheeper version brand the same, btw these are just the sleeves.

I did not cut the purch where the spring used to sit, as i was able to fit the coil in there fine with it all the way down... will it still go lower if i cut that purch, another thing that my friend thought of was maybe i was suppose to turn the thing to the top to lower it not the bottom like the rears are...

I hope this all makes sense, i dunno what to do, the front looks stock....
Please help!

Oh and i cut the bumpstop, so thats not the problem
I know my car ccan go lower, i had intrax springs in there before and the front was lower then it is right now...

The sprint perch must be removed. Some may be knocked off by hitting the perch towards the top of the strut (with rubber mallet), if not they have to be cut. Be sure to use the corect metals rings and rubber spacers to keep the sleeve in place, or the sleeve could slip toward the bottom of the strut and that is not pretty.

With most coilovers, cutting the spring perch on the front struts won't help lower the car any farther. It's done just to get more tire clearance.

What springs do you have on the front? Could you post their free length and spring rate? The front springs on my coilovers are 8" long and 350 pounds and it's about 1/2" lower than it was with Eibach Prokit springs.

wow really? mine im thinking at 8" long and they are 450P, back are same length and 350P.. either way, something is wrong and im taking them out saturday and putting my intrax back in. I have no clue what the problem is, all i know is my car is higher now, and thats pointless LOL

450 x 8 is a little long if you're trying to lower the car. With my 350 x 8 springs I have the perches dropped to their lowest setting and it's about 1/2" lower than the Prokit springs. If you do the math your spring will automatically sit .6" higher than mine just because it's stiffer. The weight of the car won't settle the spring down as far. If you like the 450 pound rate, get 7" springs. If you want a softer ride, get 350 x 8.

In the rear I think my 300 x 8 spring is a little long. I modified the mounts to lower it more, and it still sits slightly higher than the front. I'd rather have 300 x7. That would still be long enough to keep the back end off the bumpstops. With 350P rate I'd definately go with a 7" spring.

I found coilover springs pretty cheap at www.PerformanceDepot.com They have hypercoil springs at good prices, and cheaper springs for us budget modders.

well i took out my coilover today, and i really dont get it. I put my springs back in.

I measured the coilovers.

front 6"tall 450P
back 7"tall 350P

so what is the problem with these? anyone know?

Wow, it can't be the springs.

Did you have the stock upper spring seat installed with the coilovers? I know with my kit the upper spring seat was replaced with a couple washers. Otherwise the coilover seat would be too low, which would raise the car.

all i did was put everything that came in the box in...

there was a plate that sits on top of the spring that came with it.

i dunno if its cuz my car is a fwd nt maybe not enough weight, or maybe i need to do aftermarket shocks, maybe the stock shocks wont work...
