Let me start off by saying I have access to a lift and have perfomed all of the checks I could think of. I have a 91 GSX and it has a weird vibration at 65-80. What makes this weird is that it is not consistant. If I drive at a flat 65mph for example the vibe will come and go or get better and worse. Let me give a litte info here... I had bad struts and it tore up my old tires(cupped) I put in new struts and springs. I still had cupped tires and I felt the vibe but it was all the time. I knew I had bent wheels(3). So I ordered new wheels and tires. I had the car aligned, with all angles in spec I installed the new wheels and tires. Everything seemed ok until I got up to speed and felt the vibe. So now I think maybe the balance was off, it wasn't. I personally rebalanced them. Wheels are straight, tires are ok. I have new exles in the front. Rears seem to be ok. This vibe appears to be front end because the steering wheel will shake back and forth. Durring the alignment all front end parts(b.joints, tierods, bushings) were inspected and look good. I also have all new brakes w/rotors. I guess my question is what the heck would vibrate on and off in the front end? It is not rpm related at all. Is it possible that the control arm bushings are bad even if there is no cracking? I did have a P/S fluid leak I know that can damage bushings but would they still look good, and just be soft?
