Just a few days ago, my right rear brake began to squeek. It wasn't a growing problem, just all of sudden, it began to squeak, it is pretty loud from inside the car. If i press the brake harder, it doesn't squeak, but if i lightly apply pressure it does. Any help or ideas?

I would try some brake parts cleaner. If that doesn't do it, 3M makes an anti-squeal compound that works great. :laser:

So your saying something might be stuck in there, it is wisconsin, some salt maybe?

I agree with Defiant...check your pads to see if it's the wear indicator first before you stop squeeking. Seriously guys, it's a little disconcerting when the first thing everyone tells the guy to do is to stop the squeel with bandaid fixes when the pads might be worn...

okay, i'll check the pads, when i bought the car(4 months ago), the front pads were already new, but my uncle(previous owner), wasn't sure if his mechanic changed the back as well. Sucks that the high here will be -10 THE HIGH, i better find a heated garage.

BG does a product called : stop squeak, that you shoot on the pads.

where do you find this stuff? My pads squeak all over the place on the back and the pads are brand new, also resurfaced rotors.

okay, now i hear a squeek coming from the same area, but now, i can hear it when i'm not on the brakes, and i comes in about 1 second intervals when i'm going very slow. It feels like one point on maybe the rotor is not good, i haven't been able to check it yet(busy schedule). Any ideas what it could be?

When your not on the brakes eh? It's your dust shield. The dust shield gave me problems on the front. It grinded on the rotor... but I just used a flat head and bent it back.

thats probably it, because i most likely ran over a ice chunk, and hit it. Its -15 below right now here, WITHOUT the windchill, so this will have to wait a bit :thumbdown .
