hello, I was wondering If I can mount the following rims , it's for a widebody, so It doesn't matter if they come out of my fender, just wanna know how much space I have between the wheel and the suspension

in front 18x 8.5 with offset 22
in back 18x 9.5 with offset 12

please somebody help me, and how do you calculate the offset of you wheels???

i wouldn't recommend a staggered setup on a FWD Turbo car man, you will have crazy under steer! if you want it for show i would say it will look cool but i wouldn't recommend it at all for driving on the street.

While chances are good you won't touch the suspension, you'll need to provide specific tire sizes. Also, keep in mind the actual tire dimensions vary from the listed specs, so if it's close it may come down to testing a few out.

I have a widebody on my 99 GSX. I'm using 18x8.5 inch wheels with a 38 or 40 offset, I don't remember. With H&R 25mm spacers all around, the wheels do not hit the suspension. That gives me an offset of 13-15. For tires I have Nitto 555 Extreme 245x40 series. I "THINK" this is how you measure the offset. Make sure you ask a wheel shop before ordering anything. First take a wheel with no tires on it and put the front of the wheel facing the ground. Then take a straight bar and put it across the back lip of the wheel. Measure from the highest point of the center of the wheel to the bottom of the bar. That should give you the offset. Again I would comfirm it with somebody before ordering anything.

Cars that run wider wheels in the back are RWD, and do it for traction. Why would you want to give your drive wheels less traction than the ones that just get pulled along?

I have 3 inch fender flares with 16 x 9.5 wheels with 5.5 inch back spacing all the way around. The closest you'll get to that without going to a custom wheel is 12mm. I'm running a 275/45 with no suspension clearence problems. As a matter of fact I'm going to a 17 x 9.5 with a 275/40 because the /40 is a more common tire. My car is a FWD road racing car and it handles like a front wheel drive Porsche.

Because guys with widebody kits typically don't give a rats ass about actual functionality. It's all about looks...Why else would you spend thousands of dollars making your car look like a beached whale?

#### all the hate. Give him a ####ing answer. Show cars don't wanna look awkward by having wide wheels up front. Damn. Quit being tools all the time when someone asks a question.

There's no need for you to be a d1ck. Some guys mod thier cars for power while others do it for looks. I personally like both. So anytime your in the Boston area and want to run this 60-1/GT30 powered beach whale let me know.

This is a nice calculator to help you out for 2Gs:

Just for another reference point, I have 17X8.5, 40mm offset with 245/40 Kumho MXs. It is pretty close to the rear suspension upright, but clears it just fine.

I agree with cait_sith, go bigger. Maybe 275s all around on 9.5" wide wheels.

Considering he's running a show car, what would really seal it is if he went 10 to 11" wheels and threw 255-265 width tires, and run a sidewall stretch a la Japanese "Hipari" style...

Edit, also that site is awesome. I thought it was the old VFAQ page where all they ran were dinky little high offset pizza cutters. :)
