I have a fwd non-turbo and I want to convert to awd. I don't think it will be that hard or expensive but I'm not sure. I was wondering f anyone had some insight into this situation money wise and labor wise. Thanks.

I can't say much about price or anything like that, and I hope someone else can help you more, but from what I hear it is a b1tch to do. It would be way too much money and trouble to even worry about it.

and just how do you intend to attach a mitusbishi drivetrain to your chrysler engine?? espscially since the chrysled transmission is on the wrong side of the car

yo eclipseracer r u talking about AWD with a 420A or a 4G63?

because it'll cost u around 5 or 6 g's to make it a 4G63 AWD, that's Automotorsport's(AMS) price.
Really not worth it, that kind of money u could get a very clean 1g AWD

too much work in general if you could even get the parts for decent...which wouldn't be likly...i just think you're out of luck unless you buy an awd car...

It's quoted twice for a reason. Think it thru.

Not worth it you should just learn to drive FF haha. But I heard (yes I HEARD) you get a GSX rear suspension and attach it to a caravan AWD tranny, but then again I think caravans are auto boooo!

Plus where ru gonna get all the power to move all those extra parts?

i talked to RRE not too long bout this only on a turbo FWD:
"As far as cost, mostly depends on how much you pay for all the used parts. You need:

We charge $2000 for the labor. We do not sell or stock the parts. You need to track them down your self and decide how much you want to pay for lower mileage cleaner parts.

Parts Needed:

AWD Tranny

Transfer Case

AWD Flywheel

AWD Flywheel backing plate

AWD Front axle Assy's (must be from the same year car)

Driveshaft Assy

Fuel tank assy with the complete filler neck assy

Rear Suspension Assy

A little fabrication is necessary on the center tunnel. The middle drive shaft carrier location/stiffener is there but no studs. You just have to add studs. The rear bearing carrier location is missing. You need to fabricate a drop down box and studs. The mounting for the gas tank is different. You need to cut off the FWD mounting brackets and add studs to mount the AWD tank. All the fuel pump wiring colors are the same. The front end of the car is all the same. The rear frame rails were the most work. The rear two big studs for the rear suspension crossmember are in the right spot but they are too short. You need to cut through the tuunk and into the top of the frame rail to drop longe bolts down into the fram rails. The front studs are too short and need to be moved forward some. We make a new mounting pad for them. Still, not a deal breaker at all, just some surgery.

the price for this type of work in general on dsm's is round 6k,

good luck....
