Tire and lowering question

I have rims with 245/40/18 tires on them . I put one on the front and it rubbed . I spun the wheel , car was in air , and it spun freely . Will I be able to turn ok with the 245's or should I sell and go to 225's . And if I keep the 245's will I be able to lower the car without the tires getting in the way .

i want to help, but im a little confused.. you put one of the larger tires on and it rubbed when you turned?

What the tire does in the air wont tell you what it will do once your car is on the ground.

245 can be made to fit but it will take the right rim offset and some fender rolling more then likely.

225/40/18 is the "safe size" and many fit 235/40/18 easily as long as the wheels have a 40mm offset or less (to a point).

You got to tell us an offset to give you any help but it more then likely will take a little bit of work to fit.
