i wanna try to put the widest tires for the most traction on my gst. so i ont care about offsets or rim sizes. i just wanna know that 235 fit with out rubbing. i have stock suspension. i want to put 245 on but i dont know if they will rub. i want a tire that doesnt rub and hit the inner walls when you turn corners.

Are you planning on getting new rims? If so offset and rim size will determine what tire you can run. I wouldnt suggest "not caring" about offset and rim size, or you very well may end up rubbing like a vietnam hooker. If you have stocker rimmies I am pretty sure 235 and certianly 245 are too large. Generally at least 7.5-8in width rim is reccomended to run 235s.

in the back a 235 on a 8" wide tire is all i could fit, and you can get 225's on the front if i remember right? but you will have to roll the fenders alot!

oh, that comment about the vietnam hooker is pretty correct, the sides of my tires are pretty raw dog from rolling for about 5oo miles before i rolled the fenders. hey, does anybody know of some ky specificially formulated for fender wells?

im not gonna worry becasue ill get the correct rim and width size for the tires i juswanted to know what the widest tire that can be fitted plain and simple. i saw a eclipse with 235 on all 4. So I figured thats at least the biggest size i can fit.

Some people have been known to run 245 or bigger, but you may need to look into spacers at that point. 225 all around should have no problems at all.

I agree (with telly). 235 is about the widest tires that you can tuck under the fenders of a lowered 2g, but the offset has to be within a pretty narrow range to keep them from rubbing on things, as telly so aptly put. The sky's the limit if you don't care about getting the tires under your car. There's guys out there with 275's but you still have to get the offset right.

and my last set of 16's i had 245's with no issues.

You had 245s on 16s? OMG Were they 16x8 or were you sporting a massive bulge like Ron Jeremy in 1979?

haha no i was sporting the correct rims width, they were 16x8's unfortunately they were heavier than shit so they had to go in favor of the 17's on the 1g, those rims got sold and now I am trying to find some nice light weight 16x7's to run 225's so that i don't have to worry about the rim/tire either comming close to rubbing on hard cornering or sitcking out of the fender well.
