Does anyone have problems with the inside of the tires getting worn from putting on an eibach spring kit that drops the car 1.5", I notice that my perilli p7000's are worn towards the inside of the tire and is making a horrible noice.

Your drop has caused excessive negative camber. This is what is wearing out the inside of your tires. It may have caused toe changes too. Did you have an alignment done after putting in the new springs? I am not sure on a 2G, but dropping 1.5" on a 1G will exceed the adjustment range of the stock suspension. Additional hardware is needed to bring things back within specs.

Well i remember reading from somewhere that if you dont have shocks and lowering springs it can cause wear.. so if your gona lower your car GET shocks, if you dont have enough money for both, get the shocks for handling... if your goal is to get all the chicks and have a shitty ride then just get springs.

The eibach springs like 20% stiffer then the stock springs so you will have some tires wear, but its important whe nyou buy lowering springs buy some sort of shockabsorber.

im planning on buying Eibach Sportline springs, would using the Eibach alignment kit fix the negative camber?

You need a camber kit to get things back into spec.

I have Eibach/Tokico Illuminas. First summer ran without camber kit, and had your problem. Got the camber kit, problem fixed. Just make sure the people doing the alignment don't half ass it

2-0 is right. it has nothing to do with the stiffer spring really. Negative camber is always the killer of tires. You should consider getting a camber kit to save tire wear. i have a 1g thats lowered 1.75" and the front staye fine, but the rear went about .8-1.0 deg negative from spec. I dont have money for a kit, and neg camber is a bit better for handling anyway. I gave the front a bit of extreme toe (still in spec) and left eh front alone. Ive been rotating tires every oild change (2500 miles) and I have seen no excessive wear at all... BTW, like rx3 said, make sure you get a print out of all your specs after you get it aligned to make sure they arent half assing it

so basically, if you just keep an eye out on the tires, and get an alignment, adjust a few things, then you should most likely be ok with the setup and no camber kit?

btw, i just ordered Eibach Pro-Kits & Tokico Premium shocks, so i've been wondering the same.

anytime you drop a car more than an inch, it's WELL worth it to invest in a front and rear camber kit. i mad the same mistake, brand new tires lasted me about 6 months. not good.

Well I disagree... Like I sadi mine are fine, so that doesnt exactly speak for all. After an alignment it showed my front to be in spec perfectly and my rear to be in spec perfectly except for the camber being off by .8 deg (which isnt very much). ??? Like I said ive been rotating and watching mine regularly and its working great for me. With prokits the car is usually only lowered like an 1" which wont throw the camber off much at all. Usually if anything the rear is needed most. he worst that can happen is youll waste 40$ getting it aligned. Go there and get it done and see what the readings are. If its horrible (which it wont be with prokits) then go get yourself a rear kit and get another... Im just saying skip it cause I think it will be ok, I know others disagree its just my opinion...

camber kit front and rear. road race engineering has 'em cheap, pay a tech on the side to put 'em in, drop your car any way you want, make sure your shocks are good (check for chopped/cupped tires on the sides, chopped=bad shock) align your car, proof is needed for tire warranty claims cause tires ain't cheap, and be on your way. also you may need the camber kit anyway cause cars are prone to bent/worn suspension components. i see so many come in with alignment problems(stock height). speed bumps'll cause bad alignment, potholes, you name it. i got three dsm's, two new, one used and they all went out and you need the camber kit anyway to bring em back in(except for toe which is adjustable).

it may depend on the car. different set ups between 2g and 1g and models also. i have a 98 gs with sportlines and tokico illuminas. i had a alingment done and corrected the toe end. no problems or excessive wear. i balance and rotate my tires every 2,000 to 3,000 miles and once a year i get the alingment checked along with the toe. i have never needed a camber kit.

I only have a camber kit in the rear on my 98 GS-T.
I also have Eibach Pro-Kit with KYB's and the first year
I ran without the camber kit my tires wore bad as well.
After I put the camber kit on the rear I had no trouble and
I could also drive over 100mph without it shaking in the rear.
I have no kit on the front and the tires are great, a little negative
camber in front makes for better cornering!!! :D
