I currently have a set of H&R race springs and Tokico shocks. That has lowered the car about 2.5-2.7" and I am planning on going with Axis Se7en Mod rims in 19" x 8" with the Maxis lip out back. Should I anticipate any rubbing issues with a 225/35/19 Toyo Proxes 4 tire?

Thanks for your help or opinions! :thumb:

us ure ur car has gotten all the way down of 2.5-2.7" ??? i have h&r springs and like every other set i've seen the car is about 1.75" 2.5-2.7" on a 2g dsm is like slammed to the floor. besides that my gf has 225/35/19 nitto nt 555's on her 19x7.5 adr gt sports which have a 42mm offset. her car is lowered with sportlines and tokico shocks and its about 1.75" they never rub even with 4 people in the car. hope it helps

With 35mm offset you should have no problems with suspension rubbing. In fact the 45’s would be good if you are going to stay with the 225 tire width. Generally the more offset you can run the better.

Nice looking wheels by the way.

And thanks for the insightful contribution, nutshot. What are your recommendations?

Thanks for all your help! and personal experience!!!

I have installed the rims, and NO RUBBING!

Except: with the Maxis lip, the rear tire rubs the control arm around a medium to high speed corner. I have not had an alignment done yet, and I can see a little bit of a camber issue already, so I am hoping with that fixed then the rubbing will be solved.

Once again, thank you, and I will continue to post with the update after an alignment.

Changing the alignment wont give more clearance.

You are rubbing on the spindle not the control arm in the rear.

? The only place the tires would rub with position changes is the fender lip. If it was rubbing on the knuckle/spindle, it would be doing it all the time, since the position of it relative to the tire doesn't change. So how did you determine it was rubbing and the location of the rubbing?

With that offset my money says you're just touching the fender lip, and depending on your rear-camber settings and height you should be able to clear it once you get the lip rolled.

Well, after doing the annual Hood river run with the Northwest DSM guys, I quickly discovered that there is some fender rubbing going on when in a sustained corner (or with a 250lb co-pilot). So I am needing to roll the fenders. there is a guy with 17" rims and 40 series tires also rubbing, so it must not just be the 19" rims.

If anybody knows a good shop to roll fenders in the greater Seattle, WA area, please, please PM me!!!

thanks for all your help.
