just ordered them....

what should i set them at with my Eibach Sportlines???

like what do you have yours set at for what reason.

2 front and 7 rear ???

3 front and 6 rear ???

I wish that you had done a search or asked a few more questions before doing this. AGXs are actually longer (in the body) than stock shocks. When you combine this with excessive lowering for the springrate - which is the best way to summarize SportLines - you bang the front bumpstops quite often and rest on the outside front bumpstop when trying to corner, which produces a lousy ride and lots of understeer.

If you can cancel the order, I'd try to do this. You need shocks with short bodies to run SportLines.

Getting back to your question, however, you're going to want the front shocks set as stiff as you can take it. That might seem a strange suggestion, given the understeer of a 2G on SportLines (which would make you think that you want the front soft), but anything is better than a bumpstop.

Actually KYB AGX's (atleast the ones I recieved) were identical in length to the stock shocks...

Infact the OE shocks if you look close enough say KYB on them...

With a clipped bumpstop... 1" you can run those springs.. Travel will be limited... RRE has a good upper shock plate with a pillow ball... run them and it is a good amount of travel... Run that plate with konis shortended an inch and you will need to use nearly full size stock bumpstop to keep the tire off the inside of the fender.

Also there are only 4 settings...

Please go back and take a look at the jpg I posted a while ago. It shows you JIC FLT-A2s (yummy!) vs Koni Sports vs Tokiko Illuminas vs KYB AGXs. It makes it rather clear that AGXs are longer than the others. No, there's no stock shock in the jpg, but stock is about the same as the Tokiko. Konis are shorter than stock.

You are correct, however, that KYB makes our stock shocks. But they are not AGXs; they are GR-2s.

Actually, Illuminas are a touch longer than stock as well, just not as bad as AGXs.

I have heard that the latest AGXs are closer to OEM length than the first run, which are the ones I bought, however I know of several people who have been returning their AGXs annualy due to blown seals, so either which way...

I must have some of the new run...

I stood it next to a stock one and the body was the same length...

Too bad they did'nt change them to match the koni's...

Too bad they didn't fix the seals too !! :)

Charles - with 4 blown AGXs on my shelf.

I just ordered AGX's too. The part # for the new style 2G AGX's is 741042. I read on the NABR forums that the new style AGX is actually 1" shorter than stock. I will be installing them in a week and I will make sure to take pictures comparing the stock length to the AGX length.

so you think they will run fine with sportlines?

I honestly have no idea how they will run with the Sportlines. I do know that KYB does not warranty shocks that have been lowered more than 1.5" so that may be something to think about. I also heard that the AGX's blow out if they are lowered a bunch. I will be running my AGX's with the Prokits just to let you know.

I have my height probably around 2"-2.25" lower in the front with the GC's and a custom bearing plate and have plenty of travel....

So 1.5" or so with a stock upper plate should be good..

Keep in mind that moving the shock rod up around 1" on the chasis places the shock in the same situation as lowering 1"-1.25" despite actual ride height...

ok well i am changing over to Pro Kit's for the shocks...

selling my sportlines.
