Toronto,
I've heard that the eibach springs are really soft. Is this true? Anyone who has tried the prokit springs please give me your opinion.

I have the eibach pro-kit. I think the advertised drop is like 1.3" - 1.5". I have not found them to be soft. I drive an RS, so this may not apply to all. They really stiffened my car and made it handle well when coupled with the Tokico Illuminas!

with sportlines on agx's set at 2/4 my ride is fairly stiff but handles really well considering my tires suck.

alright so what springs are good for a 1-1.5 inch drop?

I think the sportlines advertised a 1.5 drop, but after settling, it came out to be around 2.

the prokits are specified as a 1.2'' drop and the sprotline as 1.6''. so thats why i was askin about the prokits. im lookin for a drop over 1.5'' cuz i dont want my car sittin too low. do you guys know of any other good springs around that drop height?

I just checked for you on eibachs's site. The drop for a 95 eclipse is 1.7" front 1.7" rear. I had eibachs on my previous car, an out of all the performance mods and such. The best thing was the suspension! Awsome company!

But what about H&R springs are they soft? I want a really stiff spring!! There is too much to choose from!! aahhhh. my last car i had eibachs and they were fine. So i cant speak for eclipses!!

ya, awhile ago i already found out that i was off by .1 on the drop that i said before when i was lookin at a chart again and i noticed i was lookin a different eclipse model. the drops are acutally prokit 1.3 and sport 1.7. i think i'll look around and c what other springs are good.

the sportlines have a decent spring rate.
Andrew

From what i've been reading, The sportline spring rate is a little too low for the amout of drop they give.

I really know nothing about suspension, but i have been reading a lot lately, and from what i'm seeing.. it seems like the H&R springs seem to have the best rate for the amount of drop they give. *one again, i claim to know absolutely nothing i'm just going by what i have read, so if someone knowledgable could back me up.. that'd be great*

Make sure to take into consideration what shocks you are getting. That will also play a major roll in how the suspension feels.

its the pro kits that people say are really soft. i have heard that the sportlines are just fine. for me im not goin with eibach cuz the pro kits have the ride height i like but are too soft and the sportlines have a good spring rate but are too low for my prefrence. i just wanted to correct that so the eibachs are still open to you cuz they seem to fit into what your lookin 4.

thanks man. But i also haveto worry about my lowering because I have a blitz body kit to take into consideration. I think i just might go with the Eibach Sportline Kit with the KYB AGX Adjustables. Then illl do some sway bars and...dam that thing will whip with my sparco seats!

sounds like you should make a thread specificaly for what your lookin for so you can find out what suits ur needs.

You want a stiff OTS lowering springs? Well, I'm sorry, but they don't exist for our cars. So you have a choice: OTS lowering springs -or- stiff springs. Once you have made your decision about this, we can help. Until you decide, we cannot help you. It's that simple.

This is very true, so i'm going to assume you want stiff springs, in which case i would recomend Ground Control coilovers because you can basically choose infinate springs rates for no extra cost, as well as have control of the ride height, which also seems to be a factor if i'm not mistaken. Plus they're wound by eibach.

wellyea with the body kit i think that would be the smartest thing to do. The ground control's go for like $500 right? Also thats the whole spring and coilover right? theres nothing else I need to buy just the coilover set right. Or possibly a camber kit. But my car should handle awsome after that!

no you still need to buy shocks. so figure in about another $300 or so.

Except that he seems to want to lower the car and he also seems to want it to handle well, so figure in $600 more, not $300, because he's only going to get that if he gets Koni Sports.

By the way, you have to decide whether you're going to get Konis before you order the GC kit, because the sleeve-rings for Konis are different from most other sets. Be sure to say Konis about ten times when talking to the guys at GC. I love their stuff, but I hate their ability to get orders right the first time.

very true, i was figuring at least $300 to be able to handle the spring rates he's going to choose without quickly wearing out the shocks.
