Lafayette and surrounding area DSM's, Let's Meet!

We need to get a meet planned out because it's been a while since I've been able to see any good running DSM's. Friday Saturday, or Sunday would be good for me and most everyone else, I guess. I know someone has a good location where as long as it doesn't get too loud we won't be bothered by the good men in blue. Just start throwing out ideas so we can get a good meet before the weather gets too cold.
 
of course im down....to bad theres 4 dsms in this state it feels like.
 
im down, and soo is my roomate. we both got 1st gens. i know some other peeps with dsm's who would come
 
Well it looks like it won't be just us two. So when would you guys and gals like to do this, and where. I haven't seen anyone in the parking lot across from Olindes's on Westmark lately. Also if anyone know of any good driving roads we could go to. Start brainstorming!!


P.S. I now drive a Black 99' Miata.

I just moved to Lafayette and I got a question WHERE IN THE MOTHER F DO YOU GUYS GET YOUR CARS WORKED ON AT? I just got a 91 talon awd and I had to go to Houston to get it and i really don't want to have to go there everytime i need some work done, tuning etc. so if y'all could give me some help or know someone that does DSM work i'd apprecitate it. Thanks alot.
 
umm..we plan on having it in lafayette because its central to most everything, and plus me and lejune are throwing it so we can get a great spot and what have you.
vegasjay-depends on what you want done...i have multiple answers for you.
AMS is our local import performance shop..its not big time like you may be used too but we get it done.
most of us real dsmers do most of our work ourselves...nick can tune but for the most part the dsmers around here do there own stuff..we have a few gurus....if you need somthing im me and we could meet up or somthing...
 
Another AMS! jeez this name is getting popular. what does there stand for? do you have a link to there site.

unfourtantly no we dont have a website cause were from the weeds.actually nick dosent have one cause hes too busy to have time for that...nick is the owner and only real employee. we kinda started a very loose team outa the shop and most of us help out there all the time. nick knows his shit and wont turn anything away hes prodused some of the fast cars down here including a 11 second gsx spyder. thats my second home. ive seen you on here before and i kept meaning to ask you why your name was so.
anyways lets try and get this meet going. lejune call me..
 
Sunday November 20 is my next day off which is not this Sunday but the next. If you all can get off for a meet that day or a later day so I can ask off it will be great. Openoner I'll probably drop by tomorrow on one of my deliveries or call you around 7-8.

I talked to Tommy today and we can have the meet in the parking lot behind the Congress St. Papa John's. It is not a huge parking lot but we should all be able to fit back there. Does anyone have any objections to this location? Now we have to pick a date, so when will all you people be able to borrow vehicles becouse I know your DSM's won't be running for one reason or another. LOL
 
that is kinda small, no objections really, but what about olindes?thats big enough and we wont be in the way cause its kinda not used for anything. i dont mind west congress store tough.
i dont think we will have a great big turn out anyways unfourtantly.
and how about the 27th. last sunday of the month. tell wendy to give you off...or get transfered to tommys store.
 
I'll try to get that day off. At what time do you want to start it at so I may be able to get some pizza's. Also let's use the parking lot on the side of Olinde's because we may get moved by the police if we are too close to the store. Does everyone know where this is? If not:

Get off at the Ambassador Caffery Exit off I-10 head down Ambassador for awhile until you see a Wal-Mart on your right, the next redlight(Westmark Rd.)(Checkers on the corner) take a left and Olinde's is a big store on your left.

Well looks like we got it all planned out. 2:00PM Sunday after Thanksgiving at the Olinde's parking lot. Get all the DSM people you know to come out. :thumb: I'm bringing my video camera!!
 
Wish I could say for certain I'd be there in my DSM. I could show for sure, in my 90 Accord Coupe, but my 1GB might not be road-legal by that time. I'm currently waiting to do a full tuneup and install a new clutch master cylinder before getting it legal. Other than that the car is in great shape and runs high 12s - low 13s.

Well Peeps I can exactly make it, my car will be down (doing Evo316G, FMIC, HG, Time and dump and downpipe). Just let me know how it goes and next time I'll be there..
 
Only a year late dude. If yall want we can make another but most of the guys I know are slacking in the DSM habit but might be up for a meet. I'm still in the Miata, but I don't mind helping out w/ a meet.
