nope radars arnt illegal, nor are the underglow unless than can be seen, and even then they usualy wont mess with you, as far as the emissions crap im not shure about it in Dallas but here in my town it dosnt really matter may be alittle different in the bigger city though

Radar detectors are legal. Neon underglows are not legal to drive with, you can have them on your car. Just not when your driving in the streets. "how are they on emissions with exhaust systems and such i have a full exhaust from megan racing on it now with a test pipe no cat should i put a cat on it before i come to texas??"
Yes put a cat on before you come here. then you should be fine.
What part of Texas are you move n to?

Dallas, tarrant and surrounding counties use the sniffers for exhaust emissions so you will need a cat to pass or you will have to know someone very well and willing to make a donation.

HEY LOOK!, IT'S LUKE!!! Ha ha. I thought you didn't come around this board...?
Orange965spd: Welcome to Dallas (when you get here) Jason and Skywalker and I are mostly on the dallas forum. I'll let others answer the other questions, as I take too much crap off of my car to worry about putting EXTRA weight on it... And I've a 4G63...
Defiant: I'll have you know, we just had an Ice-storm, and it's about 30 outside right now. But, yes, it was 80 at the beginning of the week.

BUSTED!!!! I got really bored and decided to look around.
Emissions requirements depend on where you live. For the mot part, tailpipe tests are required on all pre-96 vehicles. You can either put a cat on, be sneaky with you tune, or have friends (Benjamin works good). For 96+ they simply run a diagnostics test through the OBDII plug, alot easier to get around.

well i lived north of ft.worth before i moved out of the DFW. and the cops werent too bad on the no cat rule.. i ran with a stock 2'' dump which i still run now, and i never had any probs with cops and that dump is alot louder then straight pipes. just dont give any gas when you see a cop or just lightly.. pretty much keep the RPMS down around the cops and you will be fine. i live now in abilene, tx and i get pulled over everyday for no headlight and i will sit there at idle with them standing next to the car and they dont care about no cats. they dont look. there are so many Fbody's out here that are so much louder. they could care less about it.
and as they were saying about the underbodys.. ft.worth will allow them while you drive as long as they dont blink red, blue,white.. unless you get a dick cop. but to be save.. (take em off ) or only turn them on while parked somewhere.

not to resurrect a dead thread, but I too, will be loading my new Talon onto a trailer, hitching it to a U-Haul, and carting myself down to the Dallas area.... Denton to be more specific.
