I am mad as heel as hell with this new clutch net 4 puck clutch.
Can please someone tell me if this is normal operation for this clutch or if there is something wrong with the preasure plate.
When the clutch is depresed it does not feel like it realesed all the way.
When I tried to put it in gear 1st or 2nd it enages but with some dificulty.
But when it come to 3rd gear it is very hard to engage it.
My tranny was as smooth as could be with my old clutch a ACT.Had to replced it with something that I tougth it was beter since the ACT only lasted 6 months..
But back to the issue at hand has someone around here had any experience with this clutch net 4 way puck and tell tell me if they behave like this or if you guys think that there is something wrong here.
By the way I already tried adjusting the clutch free play and it did not help.

As for now all I can say is that this new cluth SUCKS!!!!!:thumbdown :thumbdown

Any input on this mater would help thanks in advance:dsm:

ok 2 things to check...

1: and MOST LIKLEY its the pedal, you may need to adjust it, you may not be completely disenguaging it.. seems all brands like a little different pedal placement.. like going from stock to ACT.. you stock setting on my car would not disengauge the act all the way.. making shifting a total piss, so i had to use the adjustment nut and make the push rod longer, thus bringing the release point farther out... your clutch may be similar, it seems almost all clutch setups/brands have a little different enguagment point as far as the pedal goes..

2:
if you bought a 4 puck clutch and expected anything resembeling smooth engaugment.. you are sadly mistaken.. puck clutches like that are for racing only pretty much, not street driving and DEFINATLY not for comfort.. unless your awd with over 550hp or so you should never need a 4 puck like that.. pcuk clutches DO NOT want to slip, so if you try to causually slip it like a full face disk your gonna get jerking and chatter or it will just bit and you will stall..

also, was your flywheel stepped properly for that pressure plate and clutch setup? if not that can cause either too much disengaugment or incomplete disengaugment....

sorry if this leaves you with more questions than answers..

Thanks for the input WOBBLE!!

I undersrand you completly but the part about steping the flywheel I dont get it could you please add some more info on the subject please??

By the way I tried adjusting the clutch so that the slave cylinder had more travel but that did not help much.So this step thing you are talking about could be my problem.
Also youre were rigth about not having a smoth engament but I can deal with that. What scares me is the fact that m having trouble engaging 3rd and 4rth gear after only one hard run???

Thanks in advance!:thumb:

ok well there could some real problems. Like youre throw out berring or the fork could not be plavced all the way in wich is a easy fix. The fork has a little ball it clips too. You might not have poped it all the way in place. Or the tr=hrow out berring is not on properly. I had this problem and the same thing happend too me. My car would not go in 3rd 4rth or 5th without allot of effort. There is a little clip on the throw out bering that needs to be on just right. Hope you got this all done right. And the steping on youre flywheel could be a big issued. I can talk better than i can type what iam trying to say but hope it helps you out in youre quest to fix it.

Out of curiousity, what in god's name possessed you to buy a 4 puck?

the step:

ok, the flywheel has the part the pressure plate is bolted to, the part with the dow pins.. and then the friction surface that clutch disk contaces.. the distance between the surface and the part the pressure plate is bolted to is the "step".. some clutches require less step or more than others... if the step is too small, the clutch cannot disenguage completely.. causeing very very horrid shifting, if the step is too big the clutch will not engauge completely.. causing it sto slip very easy under load..

most of the time if a clutch /pressure plate saamebly requires anything other than a stock step, it will be duely noted.
