I have a new act 2600 and act flywheel, new pivot pall and fork...my question is should i shim and how much? Ive searched and heard anywhere from 1mm to 10mm...does anyone actually know? i dont want to pull the tranny back out, id like to do it right the first time. thanks

If your clutch fork comes out of the transmission boot towards the drivers side of the car, you need no shimming. If it comes out in the middle you MAY need it. If it comes out passenger side you need to shim it.

so to check that do i need to have the tranny bolted back up to the motor? the engine is out of the car and i would prefer to not have to take engine or tranny out for a good long time :) so if all i need to do is bolt the tranny up to check then that wont be a problem....but if i need to push the clutch a few times and see where it rests then that just wont do :)

just bolt the tranny to the motor, but im sure withl all that everything, new you wont need to shim at all.

bolt tranny to motor and see where the fork is sitting as its hanging out of the trans, center is ok, to the drivers side very good, towards the passenger side baddd shimm

ok 1 more question for you and then ill stfu :) My return clip doesnt fit too well on my new TOB, is it spose to go around the outside of it or just kind of sit to the back and loosely hold the bearing to the fork? The new TOB i got with my act is bigger in diameter which is why it doesnt fit as nice. RIght now i have it going around the outside of it but it almost looks like it wants to pop off the fork part...something im sure isnt a good thing...
