I have my clutch adjusted to the way I like it now, but I am changing replacing it with a steel braded line. Is readjustment of the clutch necessary after replacement? Do most people just bleed the line and the clutch engagement points stay the same?

I'm about certain it'll find its own position again, to where you have it adjusted now. Nothing's really changing, the pressure plate tells the TO bearing where to be, and the stop and pushrod length tells the master piston where to sit. Just getting it bled is the bother, and the stainless braided line takes care of a lot of that.

I'm on an endless quest to find out what the hell that stupid accumulator's supposed to do. I fear there is no answer.

I didn't have to re-adjust when I swapped-out mine.

Thanks for the reply.
Defiant, it is always good to hear what you have to say. Whether it be sarcastic or actual techy info.

I really don't like the Mitsubishi clutch hydraulic system. They put in alot of stuff that isn't necessary and they make it more difficult than it should be. I would like to think that most crankwalk cases come from a poorly adjusted hydraulic system, and that crankwalk is the symptom, not the cause. Not many people know or care about how it works, but a poorly adjusted hydraulic system will ride the pressure plate and cause exessive pressure on the crank and thrust bearings. Just a theory, so don't go turning coats or anything.

Do an install article on the clutch line, it would be helpful. :thumb:

Make sure you get ride of that restrictor in the slave cylinder.

Those Pictures on the restrictor page look a lot like a 1g. Do they use the same slave or are they slightly different? I am pretty interested in removing my restrictor.

Same restrictor, just a little piece of metal with legs and a hole in it. Looks a lot like the metal holder for the eraser in the old Scripto mechanical pencils, with a hole drilled in what would be the bottom of the eraser. And the piece is just a tiny bit bigger.
