ok heres the skinny
busted bell housing so i had to get a new tranny but the transfer didnt match. so then i would be fwd right???
put new tranny in and it feels like the clutch is slipping??? worked allright before i took the other tranny out, at least i thought it did.
what might be the problem?
it feels the same as when my front half shaft came out and i lost power, i thought it was the clutch then untill i noticed the halfshaft was not where it was supposed to be. is it acting this way because i took the x-fer case off? i have heard of many people with awds that were temporariily FWD.

any advise???

You can't just disconnect the tranfer case and try to drive it in FWD mode. The VC will try to send power to the rear and the front, and you'll kill it.

I think you can weld the differential (or something like that)and that might make it fwd TRE does something like that with the awd trannys they sell, to use them on fwd cars cuz the awds are stronger transmissioons

so what do i have to do to run it FWD?
You need to eliminate the center differential action. Either weld it like Kyle said or remove the VC and install a sleeve that locks the shafts together.
http://www.teamrip.com/awd.html TRE sells them as Viscous Coupling Eliminators.
I think it would be much easier to find the correct T-case and bolt it up so everything works properly.

i figured it would have just worked without the x-fer case but ill just get another x-fer or ill swap the bell housing to one of my other trannies.
