91 Tsi W/ Vr4 Tranny Problems

Okay i have been working on this Tsi since august and i am out of ideas.

I am running a 91 talon tsi 4g63 with a 90 Galant VR4 tranny and transfer case (i am guessing on the transfer case) and i have a list of drive train problems.

1. The flywheel rubs the top front quarter of the transfer case.

2. The shift linkage is IMPOSSIBLE to adjust, i am wondering what cables and what bracket i need

3. Should i be using the VR4 throwout bearing or the GSX???


This wil be the 3rd time i drop the tranny and to fix things and i am growing impatient with all this usless fixing i am going through so any help will be greatly appreciated

Relax buddy, you'll get it. First of off all i have no experiance with the vr4 american tranny (just galant evo), but, make sure your dowel pins that align the tranny (on the engine block themselves) are all there. Recently DS motorsports had a tranny problems when there 2.4l engine did not have the dowel pins. This is causes the flywheel to rub on the bell housing. Secondly use the gsx "brand" new throw out bearing, and the use the mounting brackets from the gsx orgionaly. The cables, etc. are setup for them. Good luck.

i live in pearl ms i am about to do the same thing but i know you got to switch the bracket
