was up guys im looking for a little help. as of right now im using a old jun flywheel that im looking to replace soon. when i do my act 2600 clutch ill be replacing the flywheel also.

now im trying to choose between the 3 but cant decide yet. i currently have the jun and dont realy like it to much, it revs to fast and ever sense i got it ive had trouble launching my car. im thinking of the act sense its not as light as the jun but not as heavy as the oem. my car is daily driven and used at the track. i never autocross so keep that in mind.

will the act benifit me more at the track then the oem or should i just stick with the oem thanks.

I have the act 2600 with a street disk, rre aluminum flywheel 9lb, and lsd. I have never had any problems with the wheel being to light. no shatter or any problems, i did have to re learn my launchin but that was just on one day. I slip my clutch alot all the time, that way the 2600 doesnt shock my transmission too much. For an awd I would recomend it from my point of view, just slipp it dont dump it. some peopl use the 2100 but then complain they feel it slipping and not grabbing the power, but it all depends how many ponie's you have and want to get.
Good Luck.....

If all you do is drag race, might as well save some money and stick with the OEM Flywheel. If you want more versatility, sounds like the ACT would work for you.

well i never auto cross or ralley. when i do race it is drag raceing. my car is daily driven also. now what do you think

Ive seen two Oem flywheels come apart from drag racing. If you have seen this you would never say stick with the oem one. Very scary stuff. Do yourself a favour and buy the ACT one. Its lighter but not so light that its a bi*** to launch the car. Its made out of cromoly and good for 9 second et's

one reason why i looked at the act is for that reason, its light but not two light. i hate the way my car pulls in 1st gear from a light and from a launch. with my 60 trim it just pulls like crap. act sounds good

I can’t believe your advising some one to stick with an OEM flywheel. I don't think that you’ve ever seen or heard of the stock OEM flywheel exploding.

If your interested in an aftermarket flywheel I would say go with the Fidanza. The Fidanza one is very good and made of high quality material. The Fidanza also comes with a replaceable friction surface, so in the long run it will last you along time.

More flywheel info.

well i have jun now and i hate how fast it revs and the shitty launches i get. maybe its reving even faster now because my clutch isnt holding all the power i have. i think i mite go with the act

If you're not launching right with the Jun Flywheel, you've got to work on learning a launch better.

Lots of very quick DSM's use Jun flywheels. Why bother spending more money when you can change the nut behind the wheel? (That's in reference to YOU)

well actually the jun is old and with my other gsx with a act 2600 and a oem flywheel i get 1.7 and 1.8 all the time. maybe its because i have a 2100 in my car now with the jun and i am running a 60 trim turbo. maybe its that my clutch isnt holding the power and that i need some new rubber sense im spinning all four

Yes I have seen stock ones disintegrate. It's a risk no matter what flywheel you run. If you are spending money either way, get an ACT.

I assumed you had a stock one ready to go.

ACT2100's + 60 trim = Dead clutch.

No 2G GSX should ever, ever run anything less than the 2600.

LOL ya i hate the 2100, i used the 2600 in my old car and loved it, with my new car i put the 2100 because i was going to take it easy intill the 60 trim came and now im going nuts again LOL.

i think im doing the act 2600, and the act flywheel

wow just seen on act site that they make a flywheel called prolite and streetlite. im guessin the street light is a perfect flywheel for the awd drad racers. they say the streetlite is lighter then stock but not as light as the other flywheels out there. so i think its like a ligthend oem flywheel with out the risk of it shattering easier.
