D@mned Tranny Wont Fit!

I am doing a tranny swap 1G A/T to 1G A/T (more like replacement) and It took me 3 hours tget the old one out... SNUG fit. I am putting to new one in and IT WONT FIT. I cant get the pins to go into place... spent 5 hours last night trying... used 2 jacks and a 2x4 (and my whole toolbox) #$#@!$!!#$!@#!@$#%$$@%%#$!!!!! anyone know any tricks that could help me out... (for the luv of GAWD!)

exactly how will it not fit? Bolt holes not lining up? won't go on all the way? You have a cluthc alignment tool to make sure its lined up if its not?

Remove the drivers side engine mount and use a jack to "tilt" the engine. This will allow better access for getting the tranny in there. Be careful doing this, as you don't want to tilt it too much and damage the front and rear engine mounts. I'd estimate lifting the drivers side 3-4 inches should be more than enough.

Be sure the convertor is FULLY seated on the input shaft/pump in the tranny, otherswise it will never go together. (ie. the convertor will hit the flexplate long before the block and tranny meet.)

I know what you're talking about with regards to the A/T. I've put one in and it's NOT fun. Very tight packaging. Be patient and persistant. Get someone to help you. It's definatly more than a one person job.
