Here is the deal. This 1g I am looking at has definite tranny problems. The only problem is, I cant find one other thread anywhere with anybody that has this problem. So here goes the symptoms:

Tranny does fine while cold.
Clutch is the softest/worst I have ever felt. Almost completely release pedal from floor until you start moving.
Once the tranny is warm, this horrible grinding sound comes from the tranny/t case/center diff/viscous???
In first just slowing moving along, the noise is not there. I didnt get on it after I heard the sound due to being scared for my own life:D
However, second and third make the noise horribly at all times and it throws itself out of gear. I didnt not try anything in 4th or 5th. I'm sure that 1st would make the noise too given the throttle. I know this sounds like the other posts, with the sound not being made when clutch pedal is depressed, but nobody else ever says anything about being thrown out of gear. This happens at all speeds. Any answers will be appreciated. Thanks

i would GUESS its a clutch problem, its not fully engaging and disangaging

or that tranny is FUDGED
i think the clutch cuz i don't know anyone who can mess a tranny up so evenly, all my buddies either break a 3-4 shifter fork or bend a 1-2 fork or burn out the 1st gear syncro, or like me and break a center diff
but if this guy ran it low on fluid for too long i would say its a possibily of even fluckedness, how many miles? original clutch and/or trans?

its either the tranny or clutch, hard to tell with out pulling the tranny to see if the clutch is ok. if thats the case, the tranny is FUBAR'd

my car was acting up almost like this and i bled out the system and the problem went away and at the same time i realized that one of my lines to the trans and a pin hole in it and i got a new one from mitsu. Bleed out the system and see what happens

Sounds like my car kind of, cept it only grinds sometimes, I located my problem to be the Pressure PLate being bad, I really need to fix that :p someone lend me 600$

Labor hehe, i have never put in a fwd clutch, i've done it on my 240sx and it was kinda hard because i don't have all the right tools. And now that winter is coming its kind of nippy out side, If theres a local DSMer here that would like to change my clutch for me i'll gladly pay them :). Most shops want 250-400 for labor. :(
