tranny rebuild in milwaukee

Was woundering if any of you guys know a good tranny rebuild place in the milwaukee area i have a 1990 gst tranny stuck in third need it to get it fixed

If you find one let me know Mine dosen't go into reveres i gott shut car off, and put it in R other wise it grinds..... Nasty style 2.

1PhAtGsT don't know of any in Millwaukee, but AMS in Arlington
Hights IL. does real good work and its a about a hour away from you.

Andy5 Sounds more like the clutch is not releasing all the way.
Make sure that You have no leaks in the hydraulic system and try
adjusting the clutch pedal.

I already pulled the tranny apart the 3rd gear shift fork is broken and there is a part of a gear grinded about a 1/4 way downlooking for some one to replace the shift fork and replace the gear

i never bleeded a clutch on a DSM before/adjusting, can u please inform or direct me? I'm kinda new thanks

Ship the trans to Michigan to TRE I sent mine from Georgia and no big deal. Jon and Ming do one hell of a job on rebuilds with stronger shift forks and all kinds of other improvments. Don't ask for the larger 5th gear it won't fit in your 90 case. If you can get a 91 trans for cheep they can put in up to a 10% taller 5th gear.

Could there be air in my lines? it only grinds when i'm at a stop that includes going into 1st, some times 2nd but not always second? This is starting to make me mad i really don't wanna buy a new transmission.

I'm kinda tight on money right now Me being a high school student and all, i might end up finding a used one cheap considering i leave for boot camp in June.

Andy5 Where does the clutch start to engage
if its really close to the floor then maybe try lenghtening
the pushrod at the master cylinder.

Also try pumping the clutch pedal a couple of times feally fast
before you actually shift into gear, if it doesn't grind then
you might just have some air in the system

let me know what happens.

bleeded the slave cyl, no joy. So i'm sitting here thinking Damn what is causing this shit?! then i trip over my old 240sx transmission then i'm like damn I bet my pressure plate is bad! so i think i'm gonna go to autozone and pick up a stock clutch I'll get back to you all on that
