ahh man same thing happend to me but i cant remeber what it was that was holding it down....
ill try remembering and posting if i do.
good luck
by any chance do you need a stock diff. I have an extra one...

Most likely it's the reverse gear switch. Also the shift rails tend to bind a little, so wiggle the case around as you raise it up. Hopefully that will do the trick.

I had the same problem about three months ago. After removing all of the cover bolts the two or three gears on top of the cover, it would only lift it an inch or two. Make sure you have all gears off the top of the case, I dont recall there being any snap rings up there. Second, remove every single thing on the sides of the tranny case. Every bolt, sensor, etc. My problem was that there is a bolt that goes through the side of the case into a right angled shaft that had one of the reverse gears on it. This right angled shaft is only lightly pressed into the lower part of the trans, and when you try to lift off the case, it pulls it out of its hole and it gets caught on the other gears. If you remove every thing from the sides of the case, the case should slide off with a little help. Let me know if this worked for you.

yea, i got it off..

it was that little torx screw on the side still holding it in somehow.. anywho.. nd gear has 2 broken teeth, getting new gear tommorrow

no.

it cost me a total of about $300 to fix the tranny, plus i put in a phantom grip lsd..

100 for the gear, 65 for press work, 35 for the bearing the press guy broke and the sealers, locktite. and other misc crap..

launches badass now though and i did ALMOST all the work myself..

I need to fix my 1st and 2nd gear, and I also want to toss in a BMTranny LSD..........

Where did you get your parts from?

Thanks
