tranny grinding noise HELP

heres the deal, i start the ole eclipse up in the morns (420a) and i hear the most god awful noise coming from the tranny. sounds like its eating it self up... just a horrible grinding noise, but i press the cluth noise stops take the cluth out starts back up. also after the car warms and i drive a bit it goes away, and goin to second always straches till it warms.
so i need help do i replace, if so where do i look for a tranny and what can i expect to pay
