That you could make your own lsd?? just curious it was kinda a thought that we came up with the other night it a be cool if you could take out the axeles or some thing in side the trasnny and just weld it together!! Any one ever try something like this??? Thanks!!

You don't want to try to live with this on the street. Welding won't "limit" slip, it'll prevent it.

Welding the axles together is not that far fetched. Many of the old muscle car guys did this (and still do) as a cheap possi rear end. I see that the guy that tried it on a dsm is haveing trouble with the axles breaking.

Can't have the best of both worlds I'm afraid.

Save the headache and get a good LSD

(by the way you don't actually weld the axles together. You weld the gears that make the LSD together so there is no slip.)

ya so i guess there is no way eh??? Just a thought i can weld good so i thought there might be a way to save me a couple of hundred dollars!! But guess not!!
