hey guys, i was wondering if my clutch could be after market... and how can i find out. i bought my car used, and when i bought it it had an intake on it.... so im figuring that the previous owner could have known a little about cars or might be an enthusiast. My clutch seems really good. ive driven other eclipses before (unfortunately only 4g63's) and the other dsm's clutches caught a lot later than mine. When i engage mine, it starts to catch right when im releasing, rather than when its like half way out. When you get a better clutch does it just get stiffer? or does it engage at a different release point:confused: any input would be helpful

really? because it seems to catch good... does that have nothing to do with it?

btw: i got like 74k miles on it

That means yours is close to being used up. Figure three months.

Man that is a huge wild guess, engage ment points have nothing to do with holding power. It has more to do with the geometery between your clutch pedal and master cylinder.

Just run it until it is worn out then swap in a new one. Part of owning a dsm is learning how to change out clutches.
