alright heres a good one for ya.

me and my roomate are building a hybrid civic, but with a 6-bolt.

we are taking a '90 civic hatch and making it a mid engine RWD track car that will be street legal. the car is red and the chasis has been tubed out, front andd rear suspesion already done with a GSX rear diff., the rear wheels stick out about 3 inches from the fender, also it has a 92-96 prelude dash.

originally the motor was going to be a frankenstein prelude motor which is a H23 block and a H22a head. but my roomate sold his urbo lude and bought a 95 tsi FWD with a built motor and a 20G. of course like every other DSM owner he fell inlove with the car and changed his mind on the motor.

the car should be done by mid to end of next summer, i will keep you updated with pics and mods.

sell that 2g motor and get a 6bolt. Imagine crank walk on your race car :D .....Anyways, good look and keep us upgraded :thumb:

haha holy crap man thats awesome! you have any pictures?? im thinkin you should slap the h22 up front, and have the 4g63 in the rear.. kinda like the dual engined dsm video haha.. go to the street races and it looks like you have a stock h22.. tint the windows all the way and the wouldnt see in the hatch.. thatd be sweet..

how is this street legal? I was under the impression that the motor had to be from the same manufacturer as the car itself, and the year of the motor has to be the same year or newer than the body as well. Not to mention the tube chassis part.

Also, it says that you are using the rear differential of the DSM for the drivewheels. How is this going to work? This part doesnt make sense, that rear diff needs to be connected to a driveshaft, which in this case would be pretty damn short. Also, you'd hafta use an AWD DSM tranny to even be able to USE a driveshaft. But what are you going to do about those front halfshafts that are supposed to be in the tranny? You going to run like 6 wheels on this thing or something?

It would make more sense to have this thing running a FWD dsm tranny and in this case, the "front" wheels would actually be the rear wheels.

Not trying to be an asshol3, just trying to figure out this setup.

that makes sinse i was not around when the rear diff was done i just assumed that it was from an eclipse, anyways i am not worried about it being street legal, this is a drag car. it will run in the comp 4 FI classes. there is still a lot of designing left to do i still dont know exactly how the motor is going to fit in and alll that other stuff

that will be street legal

when you said that, you put me under the impression that you wanted street legality.

But anyways, you guys are basically still in the thought and design stages of this project then? I assume this because it seems you havent worked out all the details yet.

Good Job Wiseman, I think we all wish you the best of luck but we all want to see some pictures, from start to finish would be nice. if youre really going threw with it, start taking pictures now.

why owuld anyone waste their time making up some engine swap story? LOL unless they have no social life whatsoever.. i believe him, otherwise itd be quite lame.. LOL
