Ticking Lifters

Hey all,

Just wondering what everyone is doing about the ticking lifter problem.

I have a 95 Talon TSI AWD and I'm having the ticking lifter problem and would like to get rid of it.... i change the oil every 3000 miles and regularly top up my oil if at all low. As well i use Quaker Stake Full Synthetic oil...

What kind of additives or other changes can i do to resolve this...

And is replacing the oil jets(or whatever they're called) with the revised OEM Mitsubishi ones worth while....

Replacing your lifters with the 3g lifters will solve ALL your lifter ticking problems . There is a post on here of a guys phone number you can call and get each lifter for $7.74 each. That is a very good deal compaired to dealership prices.

So I'd need 16 of those lifters or the jets themselves? Or is that actually what the lifter is?

Also, how difficult is it to change them? IE... are they easy to get at etc... or would i need to take them to somebody who knows engines?

And if you have that phone # handy.. It'd help too!

There you go. That should more then answer all your questions. It also has the number to call on the first post. The lifters are the jets. Its just lifters.

It is very easy to change the lifters. Get a new valve cover gasket kit and go to town! As long as you got a prybar, you should be fine!
