Got a question about my TRANNY

I have a GS-T tranny 5 speed and one night I was racing and I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd and it stuck in neutral and will not move into any of the gears but will move side to side in neutral what has caused this to happen ? Any idea's would be great !
I already know it's not the syncros !
Something has to of broken any one ever had this problem thanks for any help!

Check the shifter cables on the transmission... they may have come loose.

The transmission has already been taken out of the car and the shifter cables where fine what ever it is it's something inside the transmission !
