Need New Trans..... Where to look.... Online???

I need a new transmission in my 1998 GSX.... The place I'm having this done at is located in FairField, New Jersey.

They told me they where having a hard time locating one..... So I figured I would do my own search. Mostly ONLINE.....

OOO YEAH..... I also need a NEW TransFer Case too!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, there goin to put a new clutch on..... What do you recomend other then an ACT2100lb or ACT2600lb........ The Shop told me CenterForce.com had good clutchs!

do u want a used tranny of a new one? or a used one rebuilt by a good tranny shop?
u should be able to find a used gsx tranny on dsmtrader.com for around 6 or 7 hundred depending on the miles, if u get a used tranny shepracing will rebuild it for about a thousand, or u could spend 2000 on a stock one brand new, extreme motorsports sells them but i cant see paying 2000 for a stock tranny, even if it is brand new
as for the clutch, it depends on how much u plan on modding ur car in the near future, in any case dont get a centerforce, for the mods u have now an act 2100 would be more then enough, on a stock car like urs a 2100 is more then u really need , but if ur planing on putting some money into the car (like say an exhaust, fmic and full ic piping, or upgrading the turbo), then get either a act 2600 of the clutchmasters 2500, both are great clutches but neither are nessicary on a stock car

i am also lookin for a trans...i would like a built one...not like a full out race trans but mine is readdy to give up on me so im starting to look now. I have a auto gst...could anyone suggest a couple good places...i dont need a shop to put it in i just need to buy 1. thanks 4 any help!

from what iv heard shepracing builds the best trannys, i dont know if u will need to send them a core or not, i will tell u in a few days cause my friend is looking to get a rebilt trans from them for his 2g fwd tsi, he doesnt have a good core so hes going to ask if they have 7 bolt cores already, its not a stock rebuild, i supose u could call it a built tranny, u can look at what they do and what optional parts u have to choose from on their site
