tranny prob?

ok, here is the deal...in the morning when i start my car and drvie it around, its fine. however, after i drive around for a while, it becames really hard to get the car into any gear. and when i stop, its especailly hard to get it into 1st. am i have a tranny overheating prob or something? or is it just a clutch prob? i personal feel that the clutch isnt coming off the flywheel all the way. what do u guys think my prob is?

yes i would like to know what this is as well. im looking to buy a dsm, this guy is selling his 90 TSI, but he has this same problem, is it a big problem, and how can it be fixed thanks.

It could be something as simple as changing the fluid....I would change the tranny fluid, as well as flush the hydraulic lines. I was having similar problems with mine and that helped a ton. If that does not work, hit me back.

Look in the VFAQ for the shifter adjustment, or on Road Races page. Bleed your system and cycle all the old fluid out and you should be good. Change your tranny fluid and look for sings of a bad tranny. Sliver glitter, Silver paint looking fluid or chunks (which I doubt)

It just sounds like you need to adjust the clutch and shifter linkages.

hey there, i'm having a same problem here, and i don't know what is wrong. So if you got it fixed then could you tell me what was causing this problem, and what did you do to fix this? Please let me know, any infos will help. Thanks.
