Tuesday night I was just driving around. I came to a light and a Del Sol wanted to race. We did. I killed him off the line, Had 1 car length on him. Any way. When I was going into 4th, It wouldnt go in!! Just grinded. Tried 5th, went in half way and poped out. Tried 3rd, 2nd, Nothing, Wouldnt go into gear at all. So I coasted into a near by neigborhood, When I stoped it slowly died. I started it up again, Still had no gears what so ever. I put it in reverse and it made a grinding chunk, then slowly died. I had it pulled back to my house. That afternoon I had my Grandpa look at it. I was at work. He pulled up at my work and started to rev the engine. WTF!!! It wouldnt even go into gear last night, And he said he didnt fix a thing. Just got in and drove off, Shifted perfectly he said. This really dumbfounded me. WHAT THE F@!% is up with that? Why would this only do it that night? Any Idea's?
BTW: Sorry so long.

And for the guys who are going to say "linkage" I checked it. Everything was fine, tight, and all together.

Ok I just got done topping off the tranny fluid. But that didnt seem to help at all. This really sucks. Any help at all will be greatly appresciated. I want some more advise before I start to open up my tranny. And I will do that too.:p But I am scared to what I may find.:|

1. Clutch rod ajustment?
2. Shift fork bearing shot? I think that is what wrong with my car. It has similar symptoms but not quite so bad.

Yeah, Shift Fork Bearing? The Shift Fork doesnt have a bearing. I really would like to fix it my self. But I could go to the shop that put my Stage II clutch in. They could cut me a deal. Should I just do it myself?

dont you love advise from someone who has ZERO knowledge of a trans?

LOl yeah, Got to love that:thumb: Well I flushed out all of the fluids. Clutch Master Clyinder= FLushed with new Brake Fluid. Tranmission=Flushed with new 70-140 trands fluid.
Clutch re-adjusted and bleed 4 times
It shifts now, but it is still very very notchy. Driveable but I really dont want to take the chance. So Im pretty sure its the Slave Clyinder.

Where is this part located?

I think he meant throw out bearing or clutch release bearing. It is attached to the clutch fork.

Edit: He said shift fork. Not clutch fork. Maybe he meant clutch fork?

hmm. Well Guess what!!!! I have even more problems. I flushed out the tranny fluid.....again...it worked. Shifted fine for about 1 day. Then saturday evening going to work, stoped at a stop sign, put in 1st, and all I hear is "errrrrr" grind eeerrrrrr arrrrrr. the car was jerking forward alot. I shut it off and put on my flashers. I started it up in neutral and tried shifting. Nothing, no gears. I shut it off. Then i tried to start it in 1st. It WOULDNT TURN OVER. THE TRANNY JUST GRINDED AND JERKED. The engine just wouldnt start, and the tranny just kept grinding. What could cause this? PLZ Help me.......again....im having serious problems.

check the tranny to block bolts, they may be loose.

Does the clutch engage about 2 inches off the floor? Or does it engage lower than that? Does the engagement height change by itself?
Since you had a clutch put in, I'm thinking it might be clutch related.

well it could be fluid related some fluids r not good for your tranny since they have yelloow metals cause they will make them britle that is why u r supposed to use like syncromeshr syncroshift r something that is made for yellow metals but if they put something other then that when they did your tranny and u have been rideing like that for a while it could be to late i had the samething happen to me but it could be diff but i would say that u have something messed up inside.

It's definiately clutch related. I don't think it has anything to do with the fluid. Drop the tranny and take a look.

Well I had it taken to the shop. I really dont feel like dropping the tranny again. Plus its always good to have a good professional take a look at it. They do really good work, and the enviroment there is real laid back. They dont pressure you at all. And they are real nice people.

Did you find out what it was yet? I'm curious, maybe this will help out someone else with similar problems. Thanks!

No I dont know what is wrong with it yet. It is still in the shop. The shop is about 2 days behind schedual. They said they will pull the tranny yesterday and work on it all day today. So I should know by tonight or tommorrow afternoon. Hopefully its just a simple problem and not the clutch itself.

I would look into your clutch slave cylinder if I was you. If the clutch wont disengage, it wont go into gears. Watch the clutch fork move when somebody pushes your clutch peddle down, and make sure it moves evenly with the peddle. When the peddle begins to move, the clutch fork should too
Good Luck!

Well I got it back from the shop. And it wasnt the slave clyinder or anything to deal with that. It was the clutch spring. I got a huge discount b/c it was still under warrenty. I also had new axle cv shafts put in for free. All I payed was 366.66.
A pic of the clutch/clutch spring.

$366? That is a sweet price for shop work. Make sure you give them props here.
