1G Clutch noise?

Ok i have a 93 Eclipse the car had a new clutch put in before i bought it 2 weeks ago.the other day the clutch start slipping and now it makes a noise like 2 plates are rubbing together when i push the clutch in.when the clutch is not engaged its fine. what can the noise be? any help is appreciated.

thanks for the reply.i'll have to try that to see if it works. but i just dont get how the clutch was working fine and felt good then all of the sudden it gets play in the pedal and makes that kind of noise.

it disengages fine but its only when i push it in after about halfway when it does it

ok its figured out. the t/o bearing was bad. reason it wouldn't start right after is because the grinding noise i heard when the car came to a hault was the starter.but currently i am putting a new t/o bearing and clutch in it but thanx for all the help.

im not sure if have that same problem. Did it sound like rusty brakes sortof? Mine goes into gears easily and fine. It only makes a grinding noise and try really hard to stall when i start releasing the clutch. I just dropped the tranny and put it back in. I added two washers to the pivot. I also oiled my tob. What exactly does a bad one sound like. This one is only 1month old at most. Also its not the clutch,pressure plate, or flywheel, i did a clutch job in march.

oh yea just in case everyone was wondering what the noise was....the clutch exploded.thats new to me.never took a tranny out and have the clutch fall to the floor in pieces. anyway the i just dropped a new tranny in it and hopefully the car is going into the garage for a couple months to get a full engine make over.i'm pushin for 11's . will have pics up soon

correction on the last post not 11's. goin for 12's.will take some time and money but it will be well worth it in the end.

thats funny the same thing happened to me i was driving down the road and poof no clutch this happened after i let my g/f race my car against one of her g/f and i had to change the clutch so i put in an act and rode it for about a month and it did it brought it to the mechanic and he had know idea how the f@@@ i did it but it was funny seeing his face when he pulled the tranny and we hear ting ting and it falls to the floor in pieces i started laughing out loud and then started crying when he told me i shoudl replace axles but to end a story he changed everything got it going again new axles and everything runs good except i think he messed up my linkages or something because when i run high rpms from first to second gear it grinds o well guess i get to spend some more money
