Centerforce or ACT

hey guys. i read on this site alot but never really posted but i wrecked my GS a while back and now am buying my friends 97 GSX! anyway the clutch on it is slipping and i'm going to get a new one for it and my friend says to get a centerforce 2500 and i've read alot on DSMreviews.com about how people like the ACT 2500. i can't really find a centerforce 2500 on the net anywhere and the only ones i can find are the dual friction and stuff like that. anyways which clutch would you guys go with an ACT or Centerforce? TIA

Depends on what you're gonna do with the car. Drag race = ACT. Track, autox, rally, street = Either one, but I'd lean towards the Centerforce for easier operation. Also depends on your style. If you're a clutch abuser, the ACT will take it better. IF you're typically easy on the clutch, then the Centerforce will reward you with smoother and easier operation.

I have had much better luck with the ACT clutches in all of my DSM's. However everybody has their own opinion. I would go with the ACT 2600 for overall performance.

I just put a centerforce 2500 in my 91 awd. It grabs much stronger than my worn oem did. The pedal doesnt feel much different than stock (a stiff pedal is the complaint I've heard of ACTs) The centerforce 2500's are dual frictions so you've probably been seeing the correct clutch. Overall, I have no complaints and would highly recommend the centerforce (I've never used an ACT)
