i final got the chance to inspect the difference between the 1g and 2g flexplate and torque conveter assemblys. The problem is not the flexplate in this swap its the end off the torque conveter that goes into the crank that different. The end of the 2g crank has a deeper hole to compencate for the larger torque converter. i stuck my finger in the hole and relized this when i picked the my crank up from the machine shop. So the solution is to either machine the end of the torque conveter smaller or drill out the end of the crank so the conveter will fit better. but the problem i see with this is that if you plan on going to a manual trans in the future you'll have to use the 2g pilot bearing in the 1g 's crank because 1g' s would sit to far back. The flexplate you need to use is Plate - MD735674 you have to put you flexplate on top of it and redrill the holes in it o yeah don't forget the bushing. And several people on different forums have told me that the 1g had a bushing and the 7bolts don't but when i removed my flexplate it had a bushing so the missing bushing was not the reason that those peoples fluid pumps went out. i'm going to have either the crank machine or my torque conveter monday, after i cut my spare conveter up to see how much material can be removed from the end of the conveter. my car should be back together on wed after i get my rings on monday i'll keep ya'll posted pray for me.

Any other questions????????also use the 3 eared flex plate and have the ears on the 2g tq moved and rebalanced...

Apearantly i bought a car with a 6bolt with 20k on the rebuild and a stripped flywheel ...95 tsi awd auto , anywho.. A complete part list and mayby a lil instruction would be nice... thanks alot - Dale

I used a 90 n/t auto flex plate it has a spacer behing it that can be removed and give the frount pump enough room. The next thing I did is have mt stock 2g tc modified and rebuilt (put some heaver duty parts in it also)..The ears on the tc had to be moved to accomdate the 3 ear tc ( the 2 g has 4 ears)..the rest is a regilar 6 bolt swap for the most part..:dsm:
