my tranny went out on my 1990 eclipse gst FWD. i am trying to quick-fix it so i can sell it ASAP. the only tranny i can find close to me is a 1991-1992 and a 90 awd. i need to know if this will fit my car. i counted the spline on the clutch alignment tool and it is a 20 spline. i dont know if they are different or what. they are telling me that it is

what would happen if i stuck an AWD tranny in there to replace the fwd? they have a 90 awd but no fwd (just 91+ and im not trying to replace my shifter stuff inside the car). i am trying to fix the tranny so i can sell it asap. found a gsx and its gonna be mine after i sell this one!

The 91 FWD should fit fine They both had 6 bolt 4G63's so it should go fine. The AWD tranny has the transfercase so it makes for a poor swap and mods to cap off the transfer case output opening.

I think.(reguarding the AWD)

i cant put the awd tranny + flywheel in and roll with it? leave the transfer case shaft spinning free? is there any way i can tell what year the tranny came from by looking at the serial number?
