My 97 GS is in need of an ATF change, so I checked some of the articles here (Doug99RS has an excellent article in the tech articles, I must mention that), and I read up on it in my Chiltons manual as well.

I have learned that I need to change a filter also, but I'm not sure what it is I'm looking for at the parts store. I've never done an ATF change, but it doesn't sound that tough based on what I've read. I know what type of ATF to look for, that's simple enough. I know I need 4 quarts of it too. My Chiltons also mentioned an O-Ring to be replaced, will this come with the filter and filter element?

Recap (since my sentences up there are kinda muddled): What type of filter/filter element? And will the necessary O-Ring come with it?

Any help would be great!:thumb:

Thanks,
Dave

ask the parts guy/woman at your local parts store.o-ring and pan gasket should come with filter.

Cool... I figured I'd ask the people over at Napa, but I wanted to know the correct terminology before I asked the wrong question and ended up looking like an idiot. I do have a tendency to look like an idiot on occasion...

Thanks!
