1G Differences in 92/94 FWD Tranny

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any differences in the trannies of an early 92 and a 94. Getting ready to do a rebuild and all the parts are from a 94 tranny.

Got the tranny done, and found out the differences.

First of all, I read a post earlier about somebody that had broken their 3rd/4th shift fork and could only find an upgrade that was a larger fork for the later 92's and up. Well, I found out that in order to use the fork from the later tranny, you must also use the shift rails from the later tranny or it will be stuck in two gears at the same time.

The only thing that must be done to make this work is carefully grind the ends of the shift rails where they slide into the tranny housing or they will not fit in.

This procedure was done using an early 92 fwd n/t tranny with 94 fwd n/t tranny parts, so other years may have differences but I know for sure that these years will work.
