i wanted to flush my tranny fluid this weekend. the next avalible opening at a tranny shop is next tues or wensday. i wanted to try to get it done this weekend. if some one has and idea or has done it before please let me know.

The best way I recomend servicing an automatic transmission involves the removal of the pan. The process goes like this.
Remove pan, drain out fluid, reinstall pan, fill with new fluid, drive 5-10 miles, come back, drop pan, replace filter, clean gasket materials, reinstall pan and fill with new fluid again.

The reason I recomend doing it like this is because a "Flush" only will not remove the debris in the bottom of the trans pan such as torque convertor metal, clutch debris and so on. Small pieces stuck to the magnet are ok, and the TC materials aren't all magnetic so they will not stick to the magnet. Flushing the fluid does not replace a dirty filter nor clean debris out of the pan. Removal of the pan and filter only will do this however will not get all the fluid out or at least diluted with newer fluid.

This method I recomend will replace the filter, clean the debris out of the pan, dilute the fluid that cannot be drained out of such places as Torque convertor and oil cooler in the radiator.
