i bout a new tranny slave cuz im having torubles shifting into first and second without a grind and the other gears are hard to put in to, but they dont grind. my clutch hasnt been disengaging all the way, i put it up on jacks and slam it into first with the clutch to the floor and the wheels still spin around. so i need help with installing the clutch slave. it didnt come with the rod, anybody with installing instructions could you plz send them over to me.

Does your old slave cylinder leak fluid at all? If it doesn't than it is most likely your master cylinder that has gone bad. But to install your slave cylinder is pretty simple, I'm going by a turbo car but assuming they are very similar. First you need to loosen the hydralic line that goes to the slave cylinder, then you can remove the 2 12mm bolts that hold the slave cylinder on. now you can take the hydralic line the rest of the way out and reverse the process, then blled the system and you are done. Good luck!

well could you tell me if it is master or slave if i told you i had a new clutch put in and they bled the lines and it worked great for about 15 minutes, then a small grind began, and from then till now, about 3 weeks, the grinding has just gotten worse and worse to the point i have to jam it into gear. so from that information would you think its master or slave cylinder, ive also adjusted my master cylinder rod out as far it can go and still have the problem.....so what do you think?

My guess is going to be that it is your master cylinder. A slave cylinder is very simple to see if it has gone bad, cause you will notice it leaking fluid. But on a master cylinder it is a little more complicated, somtimes if you reach up under your dash and find the master cylinder plunger rod you can feel if it has brake fluid on it, if it does you know for sure it is bad, but somtime it will go bad and not leak externally. So if your qabsolutly positive that you have all the lines completly bleed and the flywheel is at the proper step(.610) then I'm going to say it is your master cylinder. The reason it probably happened right after the clutch install is because your seals had already seated and worked there own groove in the master cylinder and as soon as you put a new clutch in the master cylinder had to work at a different range taking it out of this groove. This is way I will replace the master cylinder when I do a clutch job on a car that has not been changed in years.

thc alot, i felt the rod for the master cylinder and it is a bit oily. so i gues sill take the slave back and order a master and go from there, thx for your help:thumb:

i also got a lot of freeplay on my clutch with the rod fully extended, so would that definately be the master?

If your clutch pedal comes all the way up to the cruise cut switch, than yes I would have to say that it is just your master cylinder. If not then we are on to a new subject about a wearing clutch pedal assymbly. Also I would hang on to the slave cylinder, cause they are made out of the same materials and it will usually fail around the same time as the master cylinder. Good luck!

thx for your help, much appreciated, and yes the pedel does come all the way up to the top and has lots of freeplay, ill just change both i guess, cant go wrong with an entirely new set of cylinders:thumb:
