Miami,
ok guys, I have a n/a '90 eclipse. The engine block gave out so I had to buy an engine and I went with a used JDM Cyclone 4g63 with only 50k miles which I think I got pretty cheap. Since the shop will not charge me extra to install a clutch I wanted to know if I should get the 2600 or the Clutch Masters stage 3. I've been told about the "crankwalk" with the 2600 and that it won't happen with the CM so I need expertise and opinions. I plan to put a pulley kit which I don't know which one since AEM only have them for the turbo model, basically my plans are a 13 sec. daily driver.

I can get the ACT 2600 for almost $300 and the Clutch Masters stage 3 for about $450

The ACT is a much better clutch in my opinion, and i have run both. Go with the ACT 2600 and an organic disc....you will love it.

well without a turbo, i think a act 2600 is a little over kill. a act 2100 shold be just fine if your fearing cw, same for the stage 3 from cm, and centerfoce sucks and that goes for the duel friction as well. i paid $440.00 for one on my n/a and it lasted about a year, started slipping the begining of the sec. year, and throwout bearing was letting go and probably would have been gone before this year ended.

I am guessing from the fact that it is a cyclone motor that it will be turbo. Being that it will be turbo and FWD i would go with an ACT 2100. You dont want a 2600 on a FWD unless you are making lots and lots of power. You wont have to worry about crankwalk with that motor at all. Dont let that be a factor in your decision because it wont happen with that block.

Oh, and if it is indeed going to be a turbo car, stay away from a pulley kit. It will do almost nothing for you. If its going to stay NA, then you will never need better than an ACT 2100 and it will probably never run 13's without a turbo. sorry, but thats just how it is with the NA DSM's.
